ABOUT THIS YARN:

* These are NOT hand-dyed by me, the thread is already dyed when I receive it

* 3 separate strands wound together to create a gradient as you work. They are NOT plied (twisted) like traditional yarn.

* There is a knot in one strand where each color change occurs. These can easily be worked into your pattern while you knit or crochet and should not affect your finished piece. Other knots may occur occasionally from the manufacturer.

* Wound into center-pull cakes. My preference is to work from the outside in, but either way is fine

* It does take some getting used to working with this yarn, but the results are stunning if you take your time and make sure to catch each strand as you work. Once you get used to working with it, you will not even notice it is unplied and will be back up to your normal working speed.

CARE:

* Finished item can be machine washed and dried, but hand washing is recommended

GRADIENT TIED COTTON (GT):
3 strands held together changing one strand of color out at regular intervals to create a gradient effect. The colorway begins with a a solid run of a color (all 3 strands are the same color) and ends with a solid run of a color.

GRADIENT SPECKLE (GS):
4 strands held together changing one strand out at regular intervals to create a gradient effect; no solid runs of any color. The worked up colorway fabric takes on a tweed or speckle effect and offers a less harsh transition between color changes.

INCREMENTAL GRADIENT SPECKLE (IGS)
Same as GS except one strand of color changes out at increasing intervals to create a more equal gradient effect in triangle/crescent shape patterns where each row gets longer.

For your finished piece, I recommend a light soaking in a gentle detergent or soak made especially for delicate items. Items can be blocked.
As with any fiber, it is important to test if you are concerned with the color bleeding after you make your item. Test a small swatch and see how it reacts.
Red and darker colors are always at risk for bleeding, so I encourage you to test any fiber I sell if this is a concern.

This yarn is surprisingly soft, even though it is 100% cotton. The gradient is very pretty, I love the color blend. Amazing price too, under $20 for over 500 yards! I purchased two of the same colorway for my project, and opted to have the cakes wound so I can use the center pull as I work. I will be purchasing more of this beautiful yarn.
